Body Weight - Is your weight harming your health?

Start by calculating your body mass index (BMI) to assess whether you are the right weight for your height and sex.
A healthy bodyweight range is defined as a BMI of between 18.5 and 25.
A BMI below 18.5 is underweight.
Between 25 and 30 is overweight.
Between 30 and 35 is obese.
A BMI of 40 and above is morbidly obese.
BMI is only an indication of total bodyweight and tells little about the proportion of muscle to fat mass.

Athletes and bodybuilders who have a greater than average muscle mass will have an optimum weight that's higher than the healthy range.

How to calculate your BMI?
take your weight (kg) and divide it by the square of your height (m).
For example, if you weigh 80kg and are 1.7m:

1. Multiply your height by itself 1.7x1.7=2.89
2. Divide your weight by this figure.
3. 80 ÷ 2.89= 27.7.
27.7 is the BMI

How to Reduce Expenses

An important way to save money is to reduce expenses. There are a lot of ways you can stretch your dollars and help avoid that "too much month at the end of the money" feeling. Some of these steps will take a bit of planning and investigation but they will be well worth the effort. Others you will be able to implement immediately. Some will require a small up-front investment but have a substantial long-term payoff. Your ability to implement those will depend on available cash and your budget.

What you’ll need first, is a clear idea of where your money is going; then you can look at ways to cut fluff and lower the cost of your required living expense. Always keep in mind that it’s not just about cheaper; it’s about efficiency. Analyze your needs and do the math. Most importantly, however, is to understand that reducing expenses is a lifestyle change and a change in your thinking patterns. Never let yourself believe that pennies don't count.

- Determine where you spend your money.
- Immediately eliminate unnecessary routine purchases.
- Address your utilities.
- Reconsider Gasoline and Miscellaneous Auto
- Cut Down on Entertainment.
- Make the most of your clothes and other fashion accessories rather than buying more unnecessarily.
- Focus on Food.
- Address your insurance costs
- Consider pre-owned items.
- Actively manage your credit.
- Avoid the overdraft on debit cards.
- Save money on razors.
- Avoid or minimize addictive or mind-altering substances, particularly those which are illegal or otherwise currently expensive, decrease current productivity, decrease future productivity, cause health problems, or decrease judgment undermining reduction of expenses generally.
- Avoid items, however cheap or appealing, which have a primary effect of causing large and unnecessary expenditures.
- Avoid excessive housing expenses.

How to make money from Google Adsense

The average Google AdSense CPM is a subject of serious debate for webmasters all over the Internet, and the answers vary all over as well.

It is against the terms of conditions for Google AdSense for any site publisher to disclose its click-through rates or other statistics about a site’s performance.

But enough information has been posted on the Internet to make some general observations about what to expect with CPMs (cost per thousand impressions), which are the result of the ad click-through rate and the revenue per click. In brief, it is possible to exceed $10 per thousand page views for a site that relies entirely on AdSense, but the final number depends on a number of factors. The $10 number is simply a benchmark; in reality, some sites can do much better while others never even come close. More on that below.

The first consideration is the business category of the Web site. It is well-known that certain categories attract strong advertiser interest, including travel, health, financial, real estate, employment, automotive and technology. Other categories do not perform as well, such as news, weather and sports. So anyone thinking about implementing AdSense or another contextual advertiser should consider the category first.

Lose Weight Fast: How to Do It Safely

You've heard it time and again: fad diets don't work for permanent weight loss. But what about those times when you really need to lose some weight fast? It's hard to pass up the promise of crash diets like the Lemonade Diet, Cabbage Soup Diet, orLose 21 Pounds in 21 Days when your mission is to squeeze into a new outfit in time for a reunion or wedding, or you finally decide you just want to lose weight.

So what's wrong with dropping 20 pounds fast so you can wow your friends and family with a svelte new shape?

The truth is that nothing is wrong with losing weight rapidly -- as long you do it the right way, says Michael Dansinger, MD. He's the medical doctor for NBC's The Biggest Losershow, which spotlights quick and dramatic weight loss.

"In theory, one could drop as much as 20 pounds in a week following a very ambitious eating and exercise plan, devoting more than seven hours per week to rigorous exercise, and under a physician's care like we do on the television program," he says.

But even if you can't drop everything to go to weight loss "boot camp," you can safely lose 3 or more pounds a week at home with a healthy diet and lots of exercise, says weight loss counselor Katherine Tallmadge, RD.

In fact, having a goal like looking great at a wedding or reunion can be a great motivator, as long as you follow a weight loss plan that you can keep up after the special event.

But you need to plan ahead and allow enough time to make changes to your shape.

"Don't wait until one week before the reunion to try and lose 10 pounds," advises Tara Gidus, MS, RD, team dietitian for the Orlando Magic.

Dietitian Dawn Jackson Blatner, RD, author of The Flexitarian Diet, recommends:
> Eat plenty of low-calorie vegetables to help you feel full.
> Drink plenty of water so you don't confuse hunger with thirst.
> Clear the house of tempting foods.
> Stay busy to prevent eating out of boredom.
> Eat only from a plate, while seated at a table.
> Always eat three meals and one snack daily -- no skipping meals.

Influenza (flu)

Influenza is a viral disease that usually strikes between October and May.

It lasts from three to five days and can be followed by fatigue for two or three weeks. It usually causes aching muscles and joints, headaches, cough and fever with a temperature of between 38o and 40oC.

Although it can become a much more severe illness, leading to pneumonia, nerve and brain damage and even death – such complications are rare.

Because it is a viral infection, it cannot be treated with antibiotics. Antiviral agents can reduce the severity and duration of infection, but these are generally prescribed only if there are concerns regarding complications of the infection or transmission of more severe strains of the virus. The best remedy is rest while drinking plenty of fluids.

It's possible to get vaccinated against influenza, which is especially advisabl for the elderly and other people who are at increased risk of experiencing complications of flu. These include people with chronic heart, lung, kidney, liver and neurological diseases, people with diabetes, people with HIV infection and those who have an underactive immune system.

In 2009, a pandemic (global outbreak) of swine flu (H1N1 influenza A) was associated with high complication rates in pregnant women and pregnant women are now recommended to have a flu vaccine.
